Grad school or Europe for a year? A highly motivated, fourth-year liberal arts student makes her decision but still has doubts. What roles do emotion and a client’s personal history play in career counselling? The case study utilizes experiential process to uncover decision-making roadblocks.

Jacqueline Synard, B.Comm, MBA, M.Ed has a master’s degree in educational counseling from the University of Ottawa and is currently contemplating further graduate studies and private practice. Having made a career transition from high-tech marketing, she’s most recently worked in career counselling and business consulting roles at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
